YAMEI Project Planning Guide

Small-Batch Semi-Custom Perfume Bottles and Packaging

Small-batch projects of 300–500 units are at the heart of YAMEI. Use suitable existing bottles and components, then customize decoration, color, labels, boxes and inserts around your brand. We also support larger-volume custom orders.

Catalogue combinations: 300 pieces. Logo printing or color coating: 500 pieces. Handmade bottles: 500 pieces and 30ml minimum.

A Practical First-Launch Route

Distinctive packaging without starting every component from zero

Many emerging fragrance brands need a presentation that feels considered and brand-specific, but a fully bespoke bottle can require more volume, development time, and tooling investment than an initial launch can support.

YAMEI helps brands begin with suitable existing bottle and packaging components, then customize the details that shape the final appearance. The result is neither an unbranded stock purchase nor a promise that every structure can be produced at a very small quantity.

What Semi-Custom Means

Proven components, shaped into a brand-specific presentation

A semi-custom project starts with existing bottle molds, compatible pumps, collars, caps, and packaging structures that can be reviewed for the project. Brand distinction is created through component selection, color, coating, printing, labels, box artwork, inserts, and the way the complete empty set is presented.

Existing does not mean guaranteed warehouse stock. Production timing, component availability, process compatibility, sample requirements, and MOQ are confirmed after the selected direction has been reviewed.

Customization Scope

Choose where the brand should be most visible

The strongest semi-custom projects focus investment on the details customers see and handle while keeping the technical foundation practical.

Bottle Foundations

  • Existing bottle structures
  • 30ml, 50ml, 100ml, or reviewed capacities
  • Glass, plastic, or other feasible materials

Stock Component Matching

  • Compatible spray pumps
  • Crimp collars
  • No new cap or pump molds below 5,000 pieces

Brand Decoration

  • Silk-screen printing
  • Hot stamping and labels
  • Coating, color, frosted, or gradient directions

Packaging

  • Folding cartons and rigid boxes
  • Inner trays and inserts
  • Printing and surface finishing

All structures, components, colors, and processes are subject to component availability and project feasibility.

Choose the Development Route

Semi-custom first, fully custom when the project requires it

Both routes support serious fragrance projects. The right starting point depends on quantity, exclusivity, tooling, and launch priorities.

Advanced route

Handmade Bottle Development

No catalogue bottle feels right? Choose your own shape or send a reference. Handmade bottles start from 500 pieces and a minimum capacity of 30ml. Price is higher and depends on complexity.

  • Exclusive bottle structures
  • New mold development
  • Technical sample or drawing review
  • Longer development cycle and higher tooling requirements
  • 500 pieces minimum; bottle capacity at least 30ml
  • Stock caps can be matched after your inquiry

Project Scope

Bottle, packaging, or a coordinated complete set

Choose the part of the project that needs development. The original three project paths remain separate and use one structured RFQ process.

Quantity and Feasibility

A realistic route for different development levels

MOQ is reviewed from the selected bottle, components, decoration, packaging, and production steps. It is not an automatic promise based on one number.

01

Catalogue Product Combinations

From 300 pieces

Existing bottles, stock components and standard packaging.

02

Logo Printing or Color Coating

From 500 pieces

Custom logo printing or a sprayed color on the selected product.

03

Handmade Bottle Production

From 500 pieces · 30ml minimum

No suitable bottle? Small-batch handmade bottles start from 500 pieces, with a minimum capacity of 30ml. Pricing is higher than standard catalogue bottles and depends on the complexity of the design.

04

New Custom Caps or Spray Pumps

From 5,000 pieces + mold fees

Small-batch customization covers bottles and packaging. New custom caps or spray pumps require at least 5,000 pieces, plus a separately quoted mold fee. Existing stock caps and pumps can be matched to smaller orders.

Very small quantities are reviewed case by case and may be limited to available components and simplified decoration. Bottle and packaging start from 300 pieces; logo printing or color coating starts from 500 pieces.

Project Process

From an initial direction to coordinated production

The sequence keeps component selection, decoration, packaging fit, and commercial review connected.

  1. 01

    Share the Project Direction

Provide quantity, capacity, reference images, brand artwork, destination market, and timing.

  2. 02

    Review Feasibility

YAMEI reviews which existing bottle, cap, pump, box, insert, and decoration options may suit the brief.

  3. 03

    Confirm Components

Suitable structures and compatible components are selected before finishing and packaging are finalized.

  4. 04

    Confirm Decoration and Packaging

Logo, color, coating, labels, box printing, inserts, and presentation details are reviewed together.

  5. 05

    Sampling or Pre-Production Review

Sampling requirements, fees, logistics, and approval steps are confirmed for the selected route.

  6. 06

    Coordinated Production

Approved bottle, component, decoration, packaging, and empty-set assembly steps are followed as one project.

Lead time is quoted case by case after the bottle, decoration, packaging, and quantity are confirmed.

Review Both Development Routes

Coordinated Production

Specialist stages, brought together around one approved direction

Bottle supply, decoration, packaging, inserts, and final empty-packaging assembly may involve suitable specialist production stages. YAMEI coordinates the reviewed route as one project.

01

Specialist Decoration Stages

Reviewed coating, frosting, color finishing, silk-screen printing, hot stamping, or label application may be coordinated through suitable specialist production stages.

02

Packaging and Insert Matching

Existing box structures, inner trays, and inserts are matched around the confirmed empty bottle, pump, collar, and cap dimensions before production.

03

Final Empty-Packaging Assembly

Approved empty bottles, components, inserts, and packaging can be brought together for final empty-packaging assembly as one reviewed project.

04

Quality and Delivery Coordination

YAMEI coordinates quality review, production follow-up, and delivery preparation for the completed empty bottle and packaging project.

Commercial and feasibility conditions

Sample fees and related logistics costs are charged separately. Smaller-volume projects usually have a higher unit price than larger-volume production because specialist process setup, logistics, coordination, and final assembly are distributed across fewer units.

Final feasibility, available options, price, project quantity, and lead time are confirmed only after YAMEI reviews the complete bottle, component, decoration, packaging, and delivery requirements.

Who It Is For

Practical support for emerging fragrance projects

This route is designed for teams that need a credible branded presentation before committing to fully bespoke tooling.

Independent Brands

Build a first coordinated bottle and packaging direction around a manageable launch plan.

Market Testing

Evaluate selected existing-bottle and standard-packaging routes from 300 pieces without treating that quantity as a universal MOQ.

Limited Collections

Use existing structures and selected brand details for a focused product release.

Brand Extensions

Adapt an established visual identity to a new bottle, box, or complete empty set.
