Custom Perfume Bottle MOQ Guide

Compare existing bottle shapes, decoration, components, packaging, and new-mold routes before setting a target quantity. MOQ is not one fixed number for every perfume bottle project, so this guide explains how YAMEI reviews quantity without assuming that a market test and a new custom mold follow the same production conditions.

01

Why perfume bottle MOQ changes

A perfume package is a group of coordinated components rather than one isolated item. Catalogue combinations start from 300 pieces; logo printing or color coating starts from 500. Handmade bottles start from 500 pieces and 30ml. New custom caps or pumps require 5,000 pieces plus mold fees. A workable project quantity must therefore be reviewed across the complete specification. A standard clear bottle with available components usually involves less setup than a special color, custom cap, complex logo process, and new presentation box.

Production setup also matters. Color matching, coating, printing screens, foil dies, molds, and packaging tools require preparation before repeatable output can begin. The cost and material used during this setup cannot be assessed from capacity alone.

  • Catalogue product combinations: from 300 pieces.
  • Logo printing or color coating: from 500 pieces.
  • Handmade bottles: from 500 pieces and 30ml. Pricing is higher than standard bottles and depends on design complexity.
  • New custom caps or spray pumps: from 5,000 pieces plus mold fees. Existing stock components can be matched to smaller orders.

02

Existing bottle or existing mold

An existing bottle solution is normally the most practical route for a smaller market test. The starting point is a bottle shape and mold that already exist, together with compatible neck specifications and components. The bottle can still be developed into a branded presentation through decoration, cap selection, labels, and packaging. Availability and the final specification must be checked before any quantity is confirmed.

Buyers should provide the target capacity, preferred shape, material, quantity, and market position. Reference images help communicate proportions and visual direction, but they do not identify an exact available bottle by themselves. YAMEI reviews whether a suitable existing direction can meet the required appearance and whether the pump, collar, cap, and packaging can be coordinated around it.

03

Existing bottle with custom decoration

Decoration creates differentiation without necessarily changing the bottle mold. Common directions include screen printing, hot foil stamping (hot stamping), label application, frosting, transparent color coating, and gradient coating. Each process has its own setup, artwork, surface, and quantity requirements. Combining several processes can increase development work even when the underlying bottle is an existing item.

The bottle surface and artwork should be reviewed together. Fine lines, small text, metallic areas, multiple colors, and printing around curved surfaces may require adjustment or a different process. A sample is used to confirm color, adhesion, registration, and overall appearance before production. Catalogue combinations start from 300 pieces; logo printing or color coating starts from 500. Handmade bottles start from 500 pieces and 30ml. New custom caps or pumps require 5,000 pieces plus mold fees.

04

Fully custom bottle or new mold

A new bottle mold is intended for a shape, proportion, detail, or brand feature that cannot be achieved with a suitable existing solution. It requires a clearer design package, dimensional review, component planning, tooling assessment, samples, and production trials. Small-batch handmade bottles can be reviewed from 500 pieces and 30ml, with higher pricing based on design complexity. Tooling and the approved design are quoted separately where required.

New tooling should solve a meaningful product requirement. Before recommending it, YAMEI can review whether an existing bottle with controlled modifications, color, decoration, cap design, and packaging could reach the intended market position. This comparison helps avoid unnecessary development while preserving the option of a distinctive mold when the bottle silhouette is central to the brand.

05

Packaging and component quantities

Catalogue combinations start from 300 pieces; logo printing or color coating starts from 500. Handmade bottles start from 500 pieces and 30ml. New custom caps or pumps require 5,000 pieces plus mold fees. Caps, collars, and spray components may also introduce separate quantity or compatibility considerations. A complete set is planned around the most restrictive confirmed component rather than assuming every supplier quantity will be identical.

For packaging-only projects, accurate bottle dimensions, photographs, and an existing dieline are valuable. They reduce uncertainty around fit and help determine whether a standard structural direction can be adapted. For complete sets, bottle and packaging decisions should be reviewed together so that tray dimensions, opening experience, protection, and decoration remain coordinated.

06

What to include in an MOQ enquiry

A useful enquiry identifies the product route, estimated quantity, capacity, target market, desired launch timing, and the most important customization points. Include reference images, drawings, logo artwork, packaging references, or a bottle photo when available. It is also helpful to separate essential requirements from preferences that can be adjusted after review.

YAMEI uses this information to check an existing solution first, identify processes that may affect quantity, and explain where tooling or sampling is required. The resulting MOQ remains tied to the reviewed specification. If the design, finish, components, or packaging change, the quantity and commercial details may also need to be reviewed again.

  • Estimated project quantity
  • Bottle capacity, shape, and material direction
  • Required decoration and color processes
  • Cap, spray component, box, and tray requirements
  • Reference images, drawings, or artwork
  • Target market and desired timing
