What these formats are for

A discovery set lets a brand sell a fragrance it cannot let a customer smell first, which is the central problem of selling perfume online. A travel spray does a different job: it extends an existing customer rather than recruiting a new one.

Both uses reward a bottle that looks like a deliberate small product rather than a shrunken version of the main bottle. Proportion and cap weight matter more at this size, not less.

A deliberately narrow group
